Annapolis Engagement Session | Jess & Jon

August 5, 2016

I’m so excited to be sharing this Annapolis engagement session with you all!

A few months ago, I received a text from a friend of mine saying, “my friends wedding planner just suggested you as the photographer for her wedding!” It was quite exciting to hear! I later received an email from Alexandra Nesterak, an incredible wedding planner, in reference to this wedding! Turns out, I’d met the bride-to-be a few years ago while visiting my friend who initially texted me during college! Small worlds are fun.

Anyways, we planned to start their engagement session at the family farm where they’ll be getting married so I could see the grounds. We then would head to downtown Annapolis for the second half of the shoot. It was a BEAUTIFUL day all day long and I was anxiously awaiting golden hour time so I could head their way.

As soon as I got in the car, a DARK DARK DARK cloud comes over me. Now I’m in DC, with a fair bit of milage to go between me and the family farm, hoping the storm is heading the other direction. No luck. I arrive and the rain is COMING DOWN. We were able to capture a few fun photos of them in their awesome bride/groom #stachgoesbeard shirts and facial hair, and then snap a couple family photos of them with their cute little Monkey pup!

The rain started letting up a bit so we made our way to Annapolis! Our first stop was the restaurant where they got engaged. We found a panda head, took pictures next to people eating dinner, and hid from the rain a little. Once we went back outside, the rain had mostly cleared up and we hijacked the Harbor Queen (by asking the Captain nicely).

The clouds continued to clear and made way for an awesome rainbow and some beautiful golden light! There was even a killer sunset.

I’m so excited by how these Annapolis engagement session images turned out despite the rain! Also, I can’t say enough good things about these two. They were so much fun, such troopers throughout the rain, so hilarious & definitely entertainers, and they’re incredibly in tune with one another. Can’t wait for their wedding in October!
