Sometimes I feel like a broken record when I talk about how much I adore my couples, but here I go again…
I adore Kait and Chris so much! They were wed on a gorgeous day earlier this month in what was quite possibly the most beautiful waterfront wedding ceremony Baltimore has ever seen. They had such an incredible vision for their day and it really came to life. For me, it was just awesome to see Chris (who I’ve known for probably 10 years now) marry the stunning Kait – the joy in their eyes when they first were able to see each other was something else.
This day started for me at a beautiful AirBnb in Baltimore. Literally gorgeous. It was filled with so much amazing energy for all the ladies and the awesome man of honor… who were all twerking, drinking champagne, doing the splits, and wearing matching PJs. It was FUN.
After taking some photographs of the ladies all getting ready, I made my way to the Sagamore Pendry in Baltimore to photograph the gents. Greeting 10 dudes in a hotel room would be pretty intimidating – but I was so excited to see Chris and Connor (one of the groomsman who I’ve known since he was born, who introduced me to Chris back in high school)!
The gents kindly escorted Chris and the flowers to the venue – the Frederick Douglass-Issac Meyers Maritime Museum for Kait and him to do their first look! It was SO great. They both seemed a little nervous, but were so, so happy to see each other!
After the first look, we jumped into some photos of this wild and fun wedding party. I absolutely love that you can see the reflection of their venue in the windows behind them! This wedding party was such a handful – in the best way. They had come up with rows for how to stand so everyone’s face could be seen! Then, we took some portraits of just the two of them, which if I do say so myself, are so cute and really fit the vibe these two were going for for their big day!
The ceremony started and the setting couldn’t have been more beautiful. The weather was amazing, the view of the Baltimore harbor was amazing, the arbor was amazing! Anyways, my absolute favorite part of this day was hearing their vows. They both wrote unique vows in the prettiest little vow books and oh my goodness I don’t know if there was a dry eye in the place. If I were them, I’d probably want to read them every day. They were so heartfelt.
Post-ceremony meant it was time for family photos and cocktail hour… and then it was time for me to capture some shots of their reception space. And of course… sunset portraits!
The reception started and they had 8 of their family and friends speak! Kait’s parents went first and both had just the nicest things to say about Kait and Chris and their relationship. Connor, Callie & Katie, Ray, Bennett, and Harrison all gave great speeches. There were tears. There was laughter. And then there was Harrison’s speech. Harrison, the “best brother” is something else. His speech was hilarious and bizarre and everyone’s reactions were incredible, especially Chris and Kait’s.
Dinner was served and then it was time to get the dance party started! They had a beautiful first dance to Adele’s “Make You Feel My Love” and then the band got things grooving.
I am so honored that I was able to be there to capture their wedding day and am so excited for their life together! And their dog… I’m also so ecstatic about their new pup. Because puppies are the greatest.
