“Where should we do our engagement session?” is a question I get asked a lot (and can’t always answer perfectly). Typically, I suggest doing a session at a location that is near and dear to your relationship or someplace you’ve always wanted to explore!

I would love for couples to embrace what makes them happy and incorporate that into photos – whether they’re the couple that loves to hike, the couple that loves to eat, the couple that loves to stay in and watch Netflix, or the couple that loves to go to breweries. (Or, like, whatever else).

I do have some really awesome suggestions for spots though, in case couples ask! Here are some cool Maryland engagement session locations that I love shooting at!

1. Great Falls! (Example 1//Example 2)

This location is so awesome for any of you nature people! There is greenery, water, waterfalls, cliffs, and just some gorgeous hiking paths! It is beautiful year round, too. In general, if you haven’t spent a day walking around Great Falls, I think you’re missing out.

It is really quite a charming spot!

2. Glenview Mansion! (Example 1//Example 2)

Glenview Mansion is a little bit of a hidden gem. I didn’t know it existed until about 2 years ago and I grew up around 15 minutes from it. This mansion is a wedding venue that has the most stunning grounds! There is this awesome stone work, fantastic arches, a garden, a fountain, some epic trees, and amazing staircases!

This spot is really versatile for those who want some nature but also some architectural elements!

3. Annapolis! (Example 1//Example 2)

Any Marylander who loves Maryland knows that Annapolis is amazing! I would move there if I could. It’s on the water, there’s boats, crabs, water, cute city streets, and so much to offer. Not only that but there are so many little nooks and crannies to Annapolis that photograph beautifully!

It is a great spot for engagement photos!

Runners Up: Sugarloaf Mountain, Your Boat, Brookside Gardens, Your Rooftop (while eating the best food ever), Sunflower Fields (when in season), and Fell’s Point.
