The first wedding I photographed of the year happened to be a Jamaican destination wedding!
If I had it my way, all weddings would be like this one. It was a bit spontaneous, very low key, amazingly beautiful, and completely full of joy.
So let me tell you a little about Mike and Jamie. Mike is one of my coworkers at my full time job and I met Jamie for the first time last year. They are absolutely soulmates. I can’t think of two people who are more perfect for one another than the two of them. They are such an exciting couple to be around. Their genuine personalities go so well with their fun-loving and excitable nature. Mike and Jamie danced and laughed and kissed and loved and celebrated their day with such full hearts.
This Jamaican destination wedding had all the views – the palm trees, the crystal clear blue ocean, the white sand – and the perfect tropical breeze. Their ceremony was beautiful; they were both simply ecstatic to have this ceremony! Then during the portraits afterwards they had me cracking up. I didn’t really have to pose them because they were just so cute doing what they do best – loving on each other!
I think my favorite part of the afternoon was their spontaneous first dance. While walking back down the aisle to Bruno Mars’ Marry Me after being pronounced husband and wife, they were each handed a glass of champagne, and then they started to dance! Everyone thought it was a part of the plan, but I later found out they just decided they wanted to dance!
Photographing these two and their Jamaican destination wedding was such a blast!
