This Old Town Alexandria engagement session started with me practically stumbling into Natalie and Jared.
We walked around capturing shots in the little nooks and crannies that make Old Town so charming and right away they were so natural in front of the camera! Engagement sessions truly allow me to learn so much about people; I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again… it’s like you’re on a date and I’m a really weird third wheel. The two of them are both incredibly genuine, very funny, and truly enjoy being with one another. Plus they were troopers… this was that weekend where it was like 90 degrees out even at 8pm in April.
One of the most interesting things to me is when couples can endure long distance. Before Natalie and Jared met, Jared had a move to Colorado in progress (he worked as a photographer at Vail, I’m a little jealous, Colorado is just beautiful). They spent time dating long distance and then he was able to move back to the DC area! Woo hoo! Natalie said it best, “Luckily now, the pain of being far apart seems like a distant memory…but it makes us both extra grateful for each other and that we found a way back to the same city!”
In November, Jared proposed in front of a fireplace at a bed and breakfast. Sounds so romantic and so cozy and from what I’ve learned, it’s so them. I absolutely cannot wait for their wedding day – it’s going to be so incredible!
Check out their session! I hope you enjoy the images! I sure do (am I allowed to pat myself on the back like that?)!
PS. I CANNOT GET ENOUGH OF NATALIE’S PINK DRESS! Sooooo gorgeous.
And because I think bloopers are amazing… I call these: Natalie Laughs and Looks At Me Like I’m Insane — and — Natalie Laughs At Jared Who Actually Does Think I’m Insane
