Something that might come as a surprise to ya'll w

Something that might come as a surprise to ya'll who aren't photographers is that as a photographer in the DC area, you have to keep up with so so, SO many DC happenings.
What do I mean by this? DC is a prime city for protests and marches, and you have to be cognizant of if there is something scheduled at the time of your session. It could be closures of monuments (like the scaffolding that seems to bounce between monuments) or necessary permissions needed to capture images in a certain location. In pre-covid times there were races, festivals, special events, and more that would make DC chaotic!
All of these can impact where your session happens, where you have to park, how long it will take to get to the session, and how many people might be around!

Every wedding day timeline is unique and created to support the wedding couples day, logistical challenges, needs, and wishes. There isn't a ~rule~ for when parent dances should happen, but I always recommend going from the first dance into dinner, with speeches during the first course, and then as dinner winds down, use parent dances to draw attention back to the dance floor.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

I've seen many couples invite other parent-child dancers onto the dance floor to get people up and grooving! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
