Your Session

Once you are ready to book, I will send you a contract, invoice, and calendar event to make it official! A non-refundable retainer is due to reserve your session date and the remaining balance is due 3 days before your session.

Once you are on the calendar, we'll plan the finer details. We'll determine the right location and provide styling guidance and prep assistance. On the day before your session, we'll touch base to confirm the details.

At your session, we'll start by chatting to get everyone comfortable. I will guide you through the entire session. We'll move, laugh, play, and dance.

Prints & Art Work

After your session, I'll back up all the files and make sure everything is safe and secure. I'll then sort through all the images to choose the best ones. Those best images will be artfully and professionally edited by me.

Within 3 weeks of your session, you will receive your full online gallery of images. From there, you can download and share your images as much as you want to. Your gallery will be saved for a year, but be sure to download and save them right away!

You can download and order prints wherever you'd like to, but I highly recommend ordering directly from your gallery for the best quality outcome. You can order heirloom quality prints, albums, and wall art directly from your gallery.

FAQ

Where will our session take place?

What time of day do sessions take place?

I primarily photograph at beaches or along the bay, but the choice is entirely up to you! Based in Fenwick Island, I often work at beaches in Fenwick, Bethany, Dewey, Rehoboth, and Ocean City, MD. I’m also happy to travel to Lewes and Assateague Island upon request. Occasionally, sessions are held on the bay, at clients' homes, or on their boats.

While I specialize in beach photography, which is what most clients seek me for, I’m excited to bring your vision to life at any location you choose. If you have a specific spot in mind, just let me know—I’m always thrilled to explore new places!

Sessions are scheduled around Sunrise or Sunset. The best lighting for beach photos is typically the first hour after Sunrise and the last hour before Sunset. Since Sunrise and Sunset times change throughout the year, we’ll adjust accordingly.

How long do we have to wait to get our full gallery of images?

A full gallery of 60+ edited images will be delivered within 3 weeks.

How long will the session last?

For groups of 8 people or fewer, sessions typically last 45-60 minutes. The duration may extend if there are more people or multiple groups to photograph.

What happens if it rains or there’s bad weather?

If we see rain in the forecast, our first step is to try to work around it. This can mean either keeping the date but changing the session time or moving the session location. If there's no gap in the crummy weather, we try to reschedule to a date/time available for everyone. If that doesn't work, I can provide a refund OR a credit for a session, good for up to one year.

How do I prepare for the session?

For group photos, coordinating outfits in advance can be very helpful. Choose outfits that reflect your style and comfort. Solid colors or subtle patterns work best, and avoid large logos. Coordinating colors among group members can create a cohesive look.

Also, communicating with Nikki and her team beforehand will ensure a smooth session.

What should I bring to the session?

Generally, you don’t need to bring much. However, if you have young children, a favorite toy or treat can be helpful. Playing a song they like on a phone can also help them feel more at ease. While not required, additional props or blankets can enhance your photos.
