First, Don’t Stress!

I build flexibility into my schedule and always keep an eye on the forecast as your session date approaches. If the weather isn’t cooperating, here’s how we’ll handle it together:

Step 1: Adjust the Time or Location

If we see rain or storms in the forecast, the first thing I’ll do is look for a window of better weather on the same day. Sometimes shifting the session a bit earlier or later can save the day! If that’s not an option, we’ll look at changing the location—occasionally heading slightly inland or choosing a more sheltered area (like your beach home porch) can make all the difference.

Step 2: Reschedule to Another Day

If the whole day is looking like a washout, we’ll try to reschedule your session to another date that works for both of us. I’ll share my availability, and we’ll work together to find the best fit.

Typically, we try to get it in the next day or so, but it may shift from a sunset session to a sunrise session.

This session happened as a storm was brewing, but the family did not want to reschedule!

Step 3: If We Can’t Make It Work…

If rescheduling just isn’t possible, you’ll have two options:

  1. A credit for a future session (valid for 14 months), or
  2. A refund, minus a small processing fee (just the credit card fee from the original transaction).

This session happened right after a pretty crazy storm, and we kept the sesh and got beautiful skies!

A Few Weather Notes

We'll stay in touch! I’ll be texting you throughout the day of the session to keep you in the loop as we watch the forecast. Sometimes we make the final call just a couple of hours ahead—it’s not uncommon to wait out a passing shower and then have a stunning, dramatic sky afterward.

Beach weather can surprise us! Unless there’s a clear, day-long storm system on the radar, I prefer to wait and see how the skies look before making a decision. I’ve seen some of the most beautiful sessions happen right after it rains!

Forecasts aren’t perfect. I wish I had a magic weather wand, but like everyone else, I rely on forecasts and radar... and they’re not always 100% accurate. I’ll do my best to make the right call with the information we have, but sometimes we just have to roll with what Mother Nature gives us.
