What a perfect night it was for Kait and Chris’ Georgetown engagement session! These two could not have been more fun to photograph and walk through Georgetown with (and I mean like actually walk all the way through it, sorry).
THE COUPLE
Back when we were dweeby little high schoolers (maybe even middle schoolers), Chris and I met at a family friend’s house. There was some sort of party happening, I believe it had something to do with high school graduation or summer or who knows what. It was a long time ago. I could go on and on about embarrassing stories from hanging out at the beach and Annapolis, but I won’t dwell on that.
In February, our mutual friend was being thrown a surprise birthday party! I hadn’t seen Chris in a year or so, so it was great to see him at the party. I got to meet Kait and just chit chat with them a bit. I couldn’t stay long as I had a wedding or a shoot the next day, but it was a fun time. Just a few months later, Chris proposed to Kait in Iceland! During our session, Iceland was a topic of conversation as I was on my way there – they told me where he proposed and how much they loved it… so basically it pumped me up for my trip even more.
THE SESSION
This Georgetown engagement session started up on some of my favorite colorful streets. No matter where you walk in Georgetown, you’ll find some beauty – the row houses, the cute shops, hidden alleyways, and more, are everywhere you look! We then headed down to the waterfront, which was bustling with people! It was a beautiful Sunday evening, so makes perfect sense that it’d be packed.
We found a nice spot and they popped some champagne! It was cute. Our last few moments together were spent talking about food as they planned a nice pizza dinner at Il Canale (which is delicious) and how much we love Jose Andres.
