Something that really fills me with pride is the fact that I get to photograph couples who are incredibly kind and genuine. Sam and Jack are a shining example of that – plus they’re fun, funny, and really easy going (and like super photogenic)!
As we excitedly planned this cute downtown Annapolis engagement session, we weren’t sure what mother nature would bring us. After having the weirdest winter to spring transition (snow storm on the second day of spring, anyone?), we were a little concerned that there would still be snow on the ground or frigid cold.
Thankfully, on the big day, it was one of those weird weather days we’ve been having here in the DMV, but it was sunny, so that was great! With the weather being on our side, we met up in front of the Maryland State House to capture engagement photographs!
We jumped right into snapping some pictures with their handsome pup, Reagan, who was just a happy, fluffy guy. These two, and Reagan, could not have been more fun to walk around downtown Annapolis with – we stopped in alleyways, walked by the amazing Annapolis murals, and went down to the docks! Reagan was a showstopper and everyone (me included) wanted to squish his cute face.
Our plan for photos was to mosey around downtown since the couple spends much of their time in Annapolis just hanging out downtown, eating at restaurants, and enjoying the beauty of the bay. It made perfect sense to capture their engagement session in one of the places their relationship grew!
We were about to wrap up the session once it started getting dark (and that winter wind picked up), but we noticed the lights near the State House had started to turn on, so we stopped and captured photos in one last spot! These images turned out to be some of my favorite from the session!!
From what I know of these two, they are so great together. They’re best pals, turned forever loves, and they’re really there for one another. Throughout the session, they’d whispering to each other while I’d be snapping pictures – I have no idea what they were whispering about but one of them would end up cracking a smile or laughing out loud… and that is awesome. I love that!
