Let me just start off by saying I love this Old Town Alexandria engagement session SO much – I think it might have to do with this cute as can be couple!
Allow me to introduce Hannah and Evan (otherwise known as Heaven since I accidentally called them that at one point during their shoot). Hannah and Evan are dear friends of mine and that made this shoot extra special.
THE COUPLE
About a year and a half ago, Evan told me he was going to marry Hannah. And a few months later, Evan told me about the ring he was going to propose to Hannah with – a family heirloom that meant a lot to her and her family. About six months ago, I figured out Evan’s proposal plans (and geeked out a little bit). When Evan proposed to Hannah and I got to photograph it!
(In case you’re unaware, Evan is my boyfriend’s little brother. Ev proposed to Hannah the day Hannah moved to the area a few days after Christmas. A family dinner and gift exchange was planned, and Evan used his gifts to Hannah as a way to propose! He wrapped up 3 frames: one with a photo of her dad’s parents, one with a photo of her mom’s parents, and one with a letter that Evan wrote for her to read “on the day you say yes” – so sweet)!
Evan and Hannah have a relationship that is very gentle and kind – they’re both really silly, in a good way, and the way they care about one another is reflected in every action they take. Their happiness brings me, and so many around us, a lot of joy!
THE SESSION
In planning their shoot – I tossed out a few locations, but they decided they wanted an old town Alexandria engagement session. As it’s one of my favorite locations, I happily obliged.
Upon arrival, we started shooting all around town. Old Town Alexandria is so charming… with the beautiful houses, cobblestone streets, and the waterfront – we couldn’t have asked for better views. ALSO, we couldn’t have asked for better weather! That summer sunshine was on full display for us, which we were all thankful for!
