About a million months ago, I was contacted by Brandy, who may be the sweetest person in the world. She found out about my work through her friend Lynn who I had the pleasure of photographing as part of a giveaway shoot! Brandy wanted to plan a Fell’s Point engagement session with her fiancee, Dwayne, and include their son Caleb as a big part of it.
We scheduled it. It rained. We rescheduled. It rained. We rescheduled again. It rained.
We kept having the crummiest of luck with the weather, so we planned to do it and finally the day came. They were calling for evening storms. I was like NOPE. We’re doing it. It will not storm on us. They had their outfits picked out, which were so great, they had Lynn coming to help with Caleb for shots he wasn’t going to be in… we were ready to get this session on!
We met up in Fell’s Point in Baltimore… and guess what… about 10 minutes in it starts raining. Then it starts pouring. Then it starts torrentially down pouring and everyone was soaked so we hid in a restaurant (which gave Caleb treats and we were all jealous).
For real… I couldn’t have asked for a better family to do this with. They were so laid back and so understanding. I’d already felt bad we’d rescheduled over and over; I felt bad again that we had both driven into Baltimore and it rained. So, we planned for another date and guess what? WE GOT TO FELL’S POINT AND HAD A BEAUTIFUL, DRY SESSION. Their patience and kindness couldn’t be more appreciated on my end.
Now try and tell me they aren’t the cutest family in the entire world!!! I hope Caleb always enjoys cheesy pancakes and as one guy said as he was walking by the photo session – get that kid in Baby Gap! Best wishes to Brandy and Dwayne on their upcoming destination wedding and what will be a beautiful marriage, too.
