Back in February 2020, which feels like forever ago, I met up with Christina and Salaam at the Library of Congress for their engagement session!

These two are both active duty military, and Salaam is in grad school, too. When we first started chatting, they were on their final leg of long distance – and by the time we met up, Christina had been on order to Boston, where Salaam was in school!

It was so exciting to celebrate that they were finally in the same city after they’ve done some years of long distance (Japan to Memphis // Memphis to Boston)! They did say that long distance made them realize they didn’t want to do life apart and Salaam proposed at the base of Mount Fuji (HOW EPIC?!!!).

They share a love of Annapolis as they are both Naval Academy grads, but they didn’t meet until they were stationed in Norfolk, VA a few years post-grad. Sadly, their wedding was postponed and then indefinitely postponed due to COVID, but I’m crossing my fingers for them that they’ll be able to celebrate their love sooner rather than later.

Anyways, they chose the Library of Congress for their engagement session. We also moseyed over to the Supreme Court for a few lovely pictures, too.

Christina and Salaam are both so fun and easy going. There was a lot of laughter and chit chat and it was just such a simple session! They are the definition of good people.

After we met up at the Library of Congress, they were going to try wedding desserts.

Enjoy this peEk into their DC engagement session!
