Family Photos in Ocean City, MD

Some sessions just have the best energy from the very first hello and this Ocean City, Maryland family session was exactly that.

I went to college with Katy (blonde in the blue striped jumpsuit) at Clemson. She was visiting OCMD with her fiance’s family and it was the first time we’d seen each other since we sat next to one another at graduation in 2012! Watching her step into this next chapter of life, surrounded by the people who are about to become her family too, was genuinely the sweetest thing.

His family came ready. The outfits were coordinated in the most effortless way, blues, whites, and stripes that felt totally relaxed and beachy without being too matchy. Everyone had their own personality showing, and it worked so well together on that wide open OC shoreline.

The two of them together? Absolutely precious. You could feel how comfortable and happy they were, and that kind of ease just translates straight into photos. She was glowing, he was beaming, and the waves were doing their thing behind them the whole time.

We moved up and down the beach catching different groupings — couples, siblings, the whole crew together — and the light stayed soft and beautiful the entire session. Ocean City has this gorgeous wide stretch of open sand that gives you so much room to work with, and on a evening like this one, it was just perfect.

His family was warm and fun and made the whole session feel relaxed from start to finish. That energy always shows up in the photos, and these were no exception.
