A few months ago I received a message from Deena, who I went to high school with, about my photography and how she was engaged! It was great to hear from her – we didn’t know each other all that well in high school but I knew she was always super nice – so I was excited when she reach out and happy that she liked my work!
Flash forward to a few weeks ago, I was meeting in Starbucks with her and her fiancé Ryan, who was also incredibly nice. We talked about all sorts of wedding things and photography things! We also planned out their engagement session – a sunrise Georgetown engagement session, specifically!
The morning of their session, I wake up, get all ready to go, go to let Mango the Weimaraner out, and realize it’s raining a bit. No bueno. I texted them and was like AH if you aren’t already on your way, it’s raining! They were on their way, but luckily by the time we met up, the rain was about finished! We waited it out a few minutes at once again another Starbucks, and proceeded to have such a fun session!
Something I really love about engagement sessions is that not only do they give me the chance to work with the couple before the big day, but they really allow me the chance to get to know them. Like I said, I didn’t know Deena all that well in high school, so this gave us the opportunity to catch up and also get to know a little more about one another! It was soooo, so clear that Deena and Ryan are so happy together and they really just ~get~ each other. I was able to learn a little about Deena’s family and how the two of them met and what they’re both up to now and plans for after the wedding! It’s funny; I basically third wheel couples for two hours of their day, and I actually enjoy it? Is that weird?
Enjoy these images from their sunrise Georgetown engagement session!!
Thanks for being so fun and stunning, Deena & Ryan (you’re definitely models now, we have to schedule time for your head shots)!
