As a wedding photographer, I offer complimentary engagement sessions to couples who book my wedding packages! It gives me a fantastic opportunity to meet the couple before the wedding (in the event that we don’t have a face-to-face meeting during the booking process) and I think they’re so much fun. And let me tell you, Tara & Chris are SO MUCH FUN! I can’t explain enough about this session.
If I can remember properly, this was the 3rd date we had to schedule for their session (and it was raining all day but I was like third times a charm, third times a charm it’s going to stop raining) and we got lucky with no rain during the session! We had planned to do the session in Herndon, where Tara grew up and a town she loves dearly, and this date happened to line up with Herndon Festival! There was so much color and it was so neat!
We had to ask the security guards if they’d let us into the rides area for free (we weren’t going to ride them and it was the last hour of the festival!), and one of them was so nice and told us we could go in because he just got married and congratulated the two of them! It was very sweet. Once we were in the area, we were able to capture some great, festive photos of the two of them! How perfect do their outfits work with the entire shoot?! (Hint: so perfect!)
Anyways, this couple was cracking me up the entire time. They’re both incredibly sweet, funny, and just so in love. Right now they’re planning the wedding while being long distance from each other, so I hope this was really fun activity for them to get to spend some time together getting photos taken!
